Just tap the tag with your smartphone and complete the short found report. We’ll offer 2 return options and handle the rest.
What is iFoundIt and how does it work?
What is iFoundIt and how does it work?
iFoundIt is an innovative UK-based lost & found recovery solution that helps people return lost items they find through our online platform. A Plan holder attaches iFoundIt NFC tags to their belongings, if someone finds their item, they tap the tag with their smartphone. That takes them to a page in their browser, where they can report it as found. This notifies the Item Owner who can then organise its safe return.

You’ll get an alert when the found report is completed by the Finder. You can choose to have it sent to you by courier, or arrange to meet the Finder in person to collect your item, depending on the Finders selected return preference/s.

NFC (Near Field Communication) is the same technology used in contactless payments like Apple Pay and Google Pay. When someone taps their smartphone against an iFoundIt tag, it instantly opens a web page linked to the lost item, no app needed. It works on most modern smartphones.

Yes. You can accept a reward, donate it to a partner charity, or decline it altogether.
When do my Return Shipping credits renew?

They renew 12 months after the date your Plan started.
Can I choose how my item is returned to me?
Can I choose how my item is returned to me?
Yes. You’ll be shown the return options that the Finder has selected when they complete the found report and can then choose the one that best suits you.
Can I upgrade/downgrade my Plan at any time?

Currently, we do not offer upgrades or downgrades for Annual Plans.
If you are on a Monthly Plan and want to up/downgrade, we would advise that you cancel your existing Plan and switch to a new Plan at the end of your current Plan period.
How do I register my tags?

After you purchase and receive your tag/s from iFoundIt, scan each one with your smartphone and follow the setup link to register the tag to your account, and then assign & attach it to an item you want to safeguard. If you have purchased multiple tags, repeat this process, ensuring you attach the tag to the item straight after assigning it to avoid any confusion.

Premium Plans include a set number of Return Shipping credits that refresh annually. We have a pay-as-you-go option for Essentials Plan holders. One credit covers one Door to Door Collection return.

This return option is currently still being developed by the iFoundIt team, and is therefore not yet available to be used. We expect to have this as an available option by the start of 2026.

You’ll be prompted to purchase more from the store if you select the Door to Door Courier return option when organising the return of your lost item.
Can I cancel my Plan at any time?

Yes, you can cancel your Plan at any time. Cancellation of your Plan will become effective at the end of the current Plan period, you will still have access to all services until this takes effect.
What is the Door to Door Courier Collection return option, and how does it work?
What is the Door to Door Courier Collection return option, and how does it work?
This return option must be confirmed by both parties before it can be used. We currently use Royal Mail Tracked 24, a next working day delivery service for parcels across the UK. If this return option is agreed upon, iFoundIt will organise the collection from the Finders home address, and have it delivered to the Item Owners registered address.

What happens if someone finds my tagged lost item?
They scan the tag using their smartphone, complete a short report, and select how to return it from a list of options. You’re notified by email or SMS (depending on your Plan), where you can choose to accept the Finders preferred return method. The return options currently available are, Door to Door Courier Collection, In-person meet-up, and Leave Item in a Safe Place.

What is the "In-person Meet-up" return option, and how does it work?
This return option must also be confirmed by both parties before it can take place. If the Finder doesn’t select this option (it may not be convenient for them at the point of completing the found report) it will not be offered as a return option to the Item Owner. When both parties agree to this option, they also consent to the sharing of their contact details. This allows safe meet-up guidance to be sent to both parties by email/SMS prior to meeting.
How do the Reward Credits work?

Premium Plus Plan holders have access to 2 Reward Credits annually. They have a set value of £20, and are to be used to fund the reward given to the Finder for returning your lost item.
Do I need to download an app to use iFoundIt?
Do I need to download an app to use iFoundIt?
No. Everything works through your smartphone’s web browser. No app downloads required.
I have used all of my Reward Credits, what now?
I have used all of my Reward Credits, what now?
As a Premium Plus Plan holder, if you have used all of your Reward Credits, you can simply input a reward value of your choice (£20 minimum). You will then be invoiced by iFoundIt for the reward amount.

Yes, rewarding honesty is at the core of how iFoundIt works. Once your item is returned, you must confirm it through your user dashboard and select a reward value (minimum £20). If you are a Premium Plus Plan holder with remaining Reward Credits then these can be used to fund the reward value. See T&Cs for more details.
